from 40-hectare in Saint Christoly de Médoc on a gravel ridge
adjacent to the Gironde with vines of average age 35+ yrs.

The name was Château La Tour St Bonnet until the First Growth
Château Latour sued for "infringemant" in 1996 hence
dropping of "La".

Lower-neck fill. Intact and moist cork.

A(ccuray)=2: Med deep garnet/brick rim. Perfumed, mature claret.
B(alance)=3: Fully integrated and well evolved components
(without being overtly tertiary)
C(omplexity)=2: Creme de cassis, cigar box, tobacco.
D(epth)=2: Supple mouthfeel. Even and full palate, long finish.

Wine Tally Score [2,3,2,2]= 9/10

Quite harsh and austere in youth. Now passed up by most as over the hill.
Yet turned out as exemplary mature Bordeaux with an eight-hour decant and breathing.
Previous bottle on 12/06/2019. Similar notes with 2/3/2/1. This one is
even more lively with fuller sensory impact, hence 2/3/2/2.
