Saturday, May 4, 2019 - Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of light ruby colour, with fading garnet rim and legs.
Nose: Clean, with medium intensity aromas of red fruit of cherries, plum and raspberry, floral notes of violet, animal notes of gamey, mineral notes of earth, maturity notes of savory. The wine is developing.
Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium tannin of ripe and velvety texture, medium alcohol, medium body, with medium (+) flavours of red fruit of cherries and raspberry, mineral notes of earth, oak notes of cedar, herbal notes of black tea. The wine has a long finish.
Conclusion: Very good quality Bourgogne Grand Cru, still young, the nose is reasonably intense with decent complexity, the palate is however much more appealing, with an elegant yet robust structure, well-balanced and demonstrating nice finesse on the flavours, with good concentration and a very long finish. It is ready to drink now though can benefit from further ageing of another 5-7 years.
