92 Points

Sunday, January 1, 2017 - Opaque with an inch pour, but partly for an unusual reason - the wine has some turgidity along with a brown tone of color. Similarly, the smell has a hint of raisin and alcoholic burn in the nose. Together, these suggest that the wine is declining from oxidation. However, that possibly oxidized taste did not become any stronger or more prominent after being opened for 5 days. The sip shows both lively acidity and drying tannin with a softened edge, plus red raspberry fruit and a still delicious aftertaste. Overall, a somewhat bipolar wine, starting in depression and ending on a manic high.
