Friday, March 23, 2012 - The aromas gained complexity as the wine opened up. A bit muted at first, but later shows red fruit, a bit of oak/vanilla, raw meat and a hint of spice & heat. Raspberry, blackberry and black cherry notes come through on the palate which rounds out with some vanilla. Light acidity and medium tannins. The best part of the wine for me is the smooth finish which lasts quite a long while featuring red fruit and vanilla. The 15.5 alcohol is balanced and not noticeable other than the nose. Clearly quite young but already tasty and has a bright future ahead of it.
