Saturday, May 25, 2013 - Dark, dark garnet; somewhat opaque. Initially, I got a mint and lavender-like aroma, which blew off after a few minutes. Then, complex aromas of blackberry, black currant, smoke, herbs and cigar box from the oak. Similar flavors along with blueberry and a touch of black pepper. Big, powerful and rich. Lavish and velvety in the mouth. The tannins are not totally resolved, leaving very slight acidic feeling on the tongue and finish. The finish is long.
