Sunday, October 1, 2023 - 1 hour decant, then back in the bottle for a 4 hour slow ox. The combination of 40% Grenache, 35% Cab Sauv, 20% Syrah and 5% Pinot Noir and Mourvèdre made for a very interesting wine. There is plenty of spice (black and white pepper mostly) on the nose and palate with very ripe Grenache red fruits, which was followed by waves of ripe black fruits and some sweet Oak. A combination of red grapes that you might expect from Behrens in California, and it works here. A velvety smooth wine at this point.
