91 Points

Thursday, January 20, 2022 - From 1/2 bottle. Some bricking, an open-knit, generous bouquet. Tobacco, cigar box, some cherry and plum with a top note of of roses. This bottle is a touch more mature than the last bottle which was a 750ml. The first sip was loaded with the tobacco and cedar notes, but as it opened in the glass, teh fruit emerged. Raspberries and currants, blueberries and blackberries, and a rich mouthfeel. Refreshing acid and a longish finish. This is a thoroughly enjoyable, hedonistic wine without being heavy, overly big or cloying. Time to drink the 375’s.
