Tuesday, August 30, 2016 - {screwcap, 13%} Deep yellow, but still with green flashes visible. Huge, intense nose upon opening, with lemon, wax, nougat, machine oil. Well past its youth, but not quite so aged as the colour might suggest. Rich and ripe. The palate is medium/full-bodied in the context of an unoaked white; the acidity is a little low for ultimate freshness. The flavours flit here and there; there's a lemony underpinning I don't often see with this label. It's a bit light for presence beyond the mid-palate, but I'm applying a very high standard to what was a $10 wine on release. On this tasting, will last - even improve - for another 4-5 years, and hold beyond that. Excellent example of the label.
