Friday, April 5, 2019 - When opened I was not sure what to think. The cork was partially permeated and there was something about the nose that made me think that I had got a flawed bottle. For a 20 year old bottle of wine the tannines was somewhat harsh and the wine didn’t live up to my quite high expectations. But I decided to give it a little time in the decanter. And my, I was really awarded for my patience. Over the next 2 hours the wine transformed into a smooth, delishious nectar with perfectly integrated tannines and wonderful smoothness. This wine turned out to be somewhat of a gem. I drank the wine at a small restaurant in Rome with lambchops. The price at the restaurant was 190 €. After a tough start of the evening it ended perfectly!
