2009 Rhys Pinot Noir Alpine Vineyard

Sunday, June 29, 2014 - 13.1% alcohol. Medium dark ruby. Extremely expressive, mostly black fruit aromas. On the palate, black cherry, blackberry, mint, a bit of rock and an interesting herbal element. This wine has a lot of everything - power, depth, length, fruit and emerging complexity.

Reminds me of a young Littorai Hirsch. It is tremendous now, but I think it could be truely special with another 5-10+ years in the bottle.

As my bottles gain a bit of age, I think the "Rhys promise" is beginning to emerge.
