Friday, July 4, 2014 - PnP. Medium dark red. Nose of forest floor, spice, dark fruits buried under that. On the palate has a light mouthfeel but intensity at the same time and then a long brooding finish with mineral and tannins; can see a resemblance to Hirsch but lacking the iron/Gevrey component. Definitely needs time but is approachable today. Should go beautifully with a filet.
