90 Points

Monday, June 19, 2017 - An impeccably made Wine of sweet spice, cherry, a bit of nutmeg and cola but only barely. An overall ripe impression with the tannins already in recession. Certainly more than enough acidity to balance but I'm wondering when the secondary and tertiary characteristics will start to show over the canvas of sweet fruit. I hear a lot of people invoke Burgundy with Rhys, but my impression is that this is just a really good California Pinot and I've never had 6-10yo Burgundy with this sort of sweet-fruited flavor
