Monday, October 30, 2017 - My final bottle, as I work through the rest of my 2009s. This drank nicely. While I didn't take formal notes given the setting we were in, I recall some light stem inclusion aromatics and also a terrific fruit expression that was bright and expansive. A bit of cola, too. What I enjoyed about the wine was that it was approachable, still lively. My advice if you own these, as I know many around here do in CT, is to open one now and enjoy it. Not only do you get a baseline for the vintage and the wine, but you can work against the headwind of people that think they have to age these wines for years in order to discover some buried truth. It's wine, it's made to bring joy and IMO the 2009 vintage for Rhys does that well, now.
