Friday, September 30, 2011 - My introduction to Chartogne-Taillet was the rose but this was very different from the very full bodied Le Rose. This was in fact quite fine and came across delicate. I say that because the wine has 40% pinot but i could not tell; i say this could easily pass as a bdb. Lovely nose of yeast n apples. Once past the mousse, highly fruity but retains freshness, crispiness, and a welcoming acidity that made it delicious by itself but particularly more so with food. Fairly good complexity and I realised a buildup in sweetness too as it sat in the glass but in a good way. Disgorgement says 10/2010; i sense it wasnt as integrated yet with a toast that jarred the finish slightly.
