Friday, December 24, 2021 - 12% alcohol. C 50%, PN 50%. Base 2015 (50%), disgorged July 2018, dosage 6-7 g/L. The bottom of the cork is in very bad condition. Overabundant fizz initially, to the point of gushing out of the bottle at opening, but this quietens down and the bubbles are very fine. Pale golden colour.
The nose is refined with yellow flowers and some mixed peel. Very elegant in the mouth, with the dosage coming across just a tiny bit too much in the mid palate but without compromising the overall balance. Fairly long, and the dosage is appreciated in the final to counteract slightly bitter quinine-like flavours.
Very successful, and a repeat purchase.
