Saturday, July 2, 2016 - Really deep garnet colour. Has the appearance of a wine several years older, but the pure, cassis fruity nose of a wine much younger. Only a hint of cedar wood & tobacco on the nose, which is youthful. Palate is about right though - cassis, and a smooth tannic mouthfeel, though the alcohol is a little hot. Benefits from decanting. Edit: also benefits from a good steak. With food, this became something quite different. Astonishingly smooth & elegant. Beautiful. (95)
