Thursday, June 13, 2019 - We enjoyed this fine 2009 Lytton Springs with a nice steak dinner. What a treat! This wine was awesome. Upon opening, I was surprised that the color was still a bright purple color. The nose was rich and spicy. This wine is still young in some ways. The tannins are still there, providing a great backbone to the wine. There is fresh briary fruit, with some plum, anise, allspice, and a hint of molasses. The finish is still full and long. This wine may be 10 year old, and a treat to enjoy, but there is no hurry to pull this one. I think it easily has another 5 years if kept in proper storage conditions. What a great experience!
