Saturday, June 15, 2019 - At its peak now. Color is still deep and dark, no brown edges. Intense fruit with a range of flavors. The petite sirah (23%) shows through the classic jammy zin fruit, and both have softened nicely. Significant back of mouth acid & pencil lead. Goes well with spicy barbecued shrimp, Korean spicy chicken, would go well with grilled meats, strong sausages, etc. Also nice to sip on its own, as the tannins have softened, the acid is tamed and there is just enough sweetness to make it pleasant overall. It may well deserve a higher score from others, depending on your taste preferences.
