Saturday, January 11, 2014 - Wine Dinner at Collyer Catering In Westport, CT. (Collyer Catering): Tasted this side by side with the 2008 and really it might just be a preference in style. Got a very similar nose on both but I would say this one had French vanilla, cherry and blackberry. The palate revealed some dark berry flavors, vanilla, blackberry and a touch of earth. For everything the 2008 was, I felt this was just a little behind, with the greater nose on the 2008 and a slightly longer finish. The table was pretty divided between the two wines which tells you how close it was.
