Thursday, October 31, 2013 - This one has been sitting around for a while and the bottle age seems to have helped. There is still some youngish fruitiness alongside some maturing, earthy, metallic flavors. Deep rich color. The nose is showing some alcohol first then violets and rich dark cherry. The structure and character of the black fruit across the palate is quite commendable, supported by a good hit of oak. Some flinty, stony secondary flavors. Nicely balanced. The finish has a nice coating of blackberry and red raspberry
