Thursday, August 8, 2013 - Carmenere with 14 percent Cabernet. The wine is inky with a thin, ruby halo. Aromas of blackberry and cherry. On the palate, blackberry, oak, tar, pepper and licorice. The wine has a lengthy, tannic finish. It can be consumed now with a long decant or cellared for at least five years. Remarkably complex for a wine that retails for around $20.
