Wednesday, April 24, 2019 - Wines from Nuits St. George are known to need time, but on night one it didn't seem to me that this bottling had significant further development ahead of it. It was subtle and light, with a finish that seemed to drop away quickly, only to then resurface a moment later with a mouthcoating intensity. After a night in half bottle, though, it changed dramatically. It's immediately deeper and fleshier. Nose is floral with dried herbs. Acidity is very good. Earth and cedar and a slightly meaty edge bubble up on the palate. Cherry lingers on the long finish. Based on the evolution here, this beauty can sail on for some time yet.
