Saturday, March 25, 2023 - Such a stunning wine. Has been my go-to Jumilla since forever. A pleasure to have an '03 at twenty years old. I am frequently surprised at how that famously hot vintage has produced so many wines that over time have proven to be nuanced, deep and multi-faceted. This showed lots of tertiary complexity on the nose and palate, but none on the visuals. It was inky-blue-black throughout - remarkable. Lots of crushed blackberries, saddle leather, liquorice, carob, and a sexy sweetness, like fudge. Real texture here, tannins silky, but the wine has weight and chewiness. Long, opulent, generous. Seriously, a very enjoyable wine and it's SO cheap. Crazy.
