Thursday, August 18, 2011 - Hey, I bought this to accompany Chinese take out. Put it in the freezer to chill, and it worked. Almost never buy Riesling not made in Germany, but this was pretty good. Golden color. Pineapple and flowers on the nose. Lots of fresh peaches on the palate with pineapple and honey. Yes there is plenty of residual sugar. There is 12.5% alcohol, which would be high in Germany, but about right for California. Not the slightest bit heavy or oily. The acid is not that Granny Smith apple, but more civilized. There may be a touch of spritz on the top of the mouth. The finish is jasmine, ginger, and a very nice ripe pineapple. I'm trying to imagine some flinty minerality, and there might be some.
