Friday, December 20, 2019 - The nose of the 2010 Pichon Comtesse is full of cassis, blackberry liqueur, espresso, oak, and a fresh snap of herb. Fullish body but not top-heavy, with enough acidity to balance the tannin and substance. Lots of oak and espresso. This is weighty, but may not quite have the effortless sophistication of the best Pichon Comtesse, for which I think one needs to rewind to the 1982 (1996?) or advance to the 2016. 94-95 points
