Tuesday, August 4, 2015 - A surprising performance, and either this wine has had a positive development path over the last five years or my previous experiences were with less than perfect bottles. Sweet spice, ripe red plum, minerals, iodine and blood, red fruits and then eventually black pepper on the nose. Moderate intensity fruit with a good but somewhat austere mouthfeel. Lacks the impact and elegance of a great wine, but this bottle was still very good right now. Consumed over three hours. Paired with octopus, pate, and cod. 93/94.
