Thursday, August 22, 2019 - The 1991 Bonneau du Martray Corton Charlemagne was surprisingly fresh and lean, a hallmark of white Burgundy before the premix era. Unlike the 1992, 1991 was a leaner vintage for White Burgundies, most of them are maturing to fully mature now with plenty of fresh acidity. Fresh yellow fruits, mild camomile, oily Corton Charlemagne characteristic. Very tempered nose with clean fruits and no signs of tertiary flavours, yet nothing particularly energetic or exciting. Glossed spicy finish. (88/100)
