Saturday, March 17, 2018 - Coravin taste, alongside the 2009 Waterstone cab. I thought the Waterstone was more ready than this. The Affinity has bigger fruit, but it is also noticeably more tannic. I suspect this will get better with a few more years, and I don't see the fruit as fading fast (unless you like big fruit). For my palate, there is plenty of fruit and I would give up a bit more fruit in exchange for smoothing out the rough edges and for a bit more complexity. This is certainly drinkable now, but I think the window goes well beyond 2019 if stored well. I would guess this is good out to 2022 or 2023.
