Monday, January 8, 2007 - Drank this with the 1997 Chateau Montelena and the Insignia didn't show as well. The telltale Napa fruit was there, both on the nose and in the mouth, with nice hints of eucalyptis and some cigar box/tobacco. Where the Insignia came up short, in comparison with the Montelena, was in the structure and the finish. Flavors were wonderful, but they dissipated quickly and seemed to lose all form in the short finish. A good wine, but not more than that.
