Sunday, December 11, 2016 - What a monster, it appears that aging has happened slowly, adding complexity to this vigorous red. It could easily last another 10-20 years, while in fantastic form right now. This wine is dark blood colored, great nose without decanting, and full bodied texture. Very impressive with this Napa effort, nothing to be envied to its cousins from Bordeaux.
Great for meats and heavier foods, impressive by itself. Bug YUM.
(from the assistant)
The wine looks inky colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like red currant, black currant (cassis), fig, forest floor, light toast, black pepper and blackberry. The body is full. The wine has silky texture.
