Friday, June 15, 2007 - Dark ruby/garnet color. The nose of this wine was slightly woody and spicy along with the dark fruit aromas. Even after over an hour after being opened, it was still quite tightl with the palate revealing currant, licorice, and cherry flavors. I had tried the 1998 Insignia a couple years ago, and I wasn't a big fan of that. This vintage stayed true to my earlier impression of Insignia - it's just not my thing. A very good wine, but not one that knocks my socks off - especially for the tariff...
