Tuesday, November 1, 2016 - Nose shows cherries, licorice and leather. Still a pretty ruby red with the slightest of bricking. Medium body with wonderful complexity. Plenty of black fruit on the palate, along with leather, meat and earth. Even detected some lead pencil with still a slight tannic grip. Sweet ripe fruit is still the first thing one notices, but there are plenty of other very pleasant elements to this wine. A bit short perhaps, but very tasty. Prime example of the best of what California is capable of. My WOTN.
