We sampled a vertical of the Ovello Riserva that day, but I was able to taste a 2007, and thought it was reaching a nice drinking point. While it’s still early days, I think this Montestefano is getting into a drinking window, if you are tannin tolerant. The classic red fruit, floral, leather, tar notes were all in play, with plenty of depth for further aging.
