Saturday, December 9, 2023 - Opens with a beam of bright red tart cherry, much briar, med+ acid and medium tannic grip. Softens with airtime to share riper red fruit cushioned in a complexity sois bois and briar stems. Just entering its’ drinking window and years of development to go. 13.5% Alc.

Nicely balanced and interesting to the bottom of the bottle, but seemed like a wine to appreciate more than to love. From Amoureuses, I hope for swooning, head-over-heels passion.

This is a bottle for lovers of subtle complexity and an ethereal style; I'm told by knowledgeable friends that Bertheau excels in cooler vintages like 2010.
