Saturday, September 9, 2023 - Apprehensively approached this aged Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley. Plenty of bricking which makes identifying old PN tricky but still showing hints of pale ruby. Disappointing nose, closed off even after an hour of decanting, hints of must. Surprisingly wonderful palate, still tasting red fruit, well balanced acidity, tannins fully evolved, medium bodied but a tad tired. Perhaps at it's a peak a couple of yrs ago. Our cousins across the pond need to appreciate ageing their wonderful wines
