Saturday, December 15, 2012 - Not ready but when it is, in maybe 5 years, wow. Impenetrably dark, couldn't even get light through it holding glass up to a lightbulb, but on the edges it's deep purple red. On the nose, my wife thought cake but I didn't get that though there is a hint of sweetness that's not borne out on the palate. Really rich in the mouth but pulls it off without cloying, unlike some other top-end cali syrahs (e.g. Alban, for me). Probably shouldn't have pulled this but was having rack of lamb and wanted to try this.
