Tuesday, December 28, 2010 - You know ........ this is what drinking wine is all about. Just a good bottle on the deck at sunset ..... dusty sunset. A little bit of cheese, a few pieces of baguette, and a nicely aged Bruno.
Colour : dusty dulling garnet. Exactly what one would expect with an older wine.
Aroma ...... wow, very expressive. Dark , earthy, wet rich loamy forest floor, baking spices, blackcherry, vanilla. I actually enjoyed the aroma more then the flavour. I could smell this all evening.
Flavour ..... mmmmmmmmmmm ............mmmmmmmmmmm .............. mmmmmmmmmmm ......nice subtle fruit notes to start (red fruit jams .... but not jammy), vanilla and licorice, gentle dusty tannins. Acidity is in decline. Tannins are still drying. Medium body. Decent length of finish. Medium tannins. Time to drink up.
Well worth the wait.
