Sunday, March 24, 2024 - Decanted for sediment. Medium garnet color. Explosive nose of ripe red cherry, cherry liqueur, balsamic, cedar cigar box, a bit of herbal cough drop and brown sugar. Could smell this wine from a few feet away. Similar flavors on the palate with loads of dried and slightly baked cherry flavors, baking spices and cigar box / tobacco notes. Medium+ acidity and tannin. Plenty of structure but well balanced and finishes long. Have had a few bottles of the 08 vintage of this wine and the 07 is far superior. Fantastic bottle of aged Barolo and drinking great at the moment.
