Sunday, November 29, 2015 - I usually think petite sirah has a very important role to play in the vineyard - plant it on the edges and let the birds and deer have at it so we don't have to drink it. But this one is special - there is no alcoholic heat nor is it clunky or flabby. It has acid, it has acceptable tannins, and the alcohol can't be felt. It is fruity but it doesn't smack you upside the head. Blackberry Licorice violets. The nose is an incredible perfume. Probably the best PS I've had. Drink up.
