Saturday, September 28, 2013 - Violet and cedar spice box scents drifted from the decanter (decanted for 1 hour first). A closer sniff brought out a lush velvety note of bacon fat. Tasting brought a beautifully balanced red fruit, dark plum, and pepper mix finishing long and harmonious, with mild oak and hints of smoke. This was a real gem and I'm sad it was my last bottle of this vintage.
