Wednesday, June 20, 2012 - This is without a doubt the best Großes Gewächs I have ever drunk (at least that's how I feel right now). Forget everything you have heard about GGs: they are hot, they are stern when young, they need more time, they are lacking fruit, they need some RS( I think many do), etc., etc. This wine was so impressive with its cheery cherry skin and slate mineral nose and mouth entry and a swallow that explores fathomless depths. I am at a loss for words ( think red apple skin, green apple meat, blue slate, cherry skin, slightly saline; it is just so utterly delicious and drinkable.
