Friday, July 8, 2011 - I also acquired this off the WL banner sale. At $20 I am happy to own this wine, however I would be dissapoionted paying $30+. It has a lot going for it in the aromatics category with lots of red fruit and a back end of herbaciousness. I tasted it immediately after opening and the inital attack on the palate was extremely fruit forward. Not what I was looking for. The mid-palate relaxed on the fruit and the finish was a bit short. It did not bring the thunder....at first. A couple hours later it evolved into something much more Burgundian. The intial fruity attack vanished and the wine evolved into something more delicate and balanced. Still, it is a bit short on the finish and light overall. I prefer that to a sugarfied fruit-bomb pinot any day, but I still would have appreciated a bit more complexity out this wine.
