Thursday, May 9, 2013 - This has aged a bit since the NY eve tasting, but it has progressed a bit. It was so tight that much of the fruit was unnoticeable, but this sat in the glass for a good 15 minutes with some swirling. Nice orchard fruits were apparent though a little under-ripe. Lemony citrus backbone and loads of bubbles. This had some nuances of hazelnut and ginger, but nothing outstanding to hold on to. I never agree with Bruce Sanderson on Champagne, but this was a decent champers tonight, but I wouldn't be buying much of it when there are other choices. Many liked this, but just as many were disappointed in a group of 36.
