NV Piper-Heidsieck Champagne Brut (2 bottles): 89p
Both bottles had slightly different labels. You could also notice by colour and taste that one bottle was definitely older than the other one. The younger bottle was of course a bit fresher and sparkly, whereas I liked the mature bottle better. It had more yeasty and ripe fuit characteristics.

2017 Weingut Robert Weil Cuvée 25 Trocken (2 Magnums): 87p
Crowd pleaser Riesling with well balanced floral-fruity notes, lemon and little minerality; much better with food than without.

2017 Franz und Christine Netzl Edles Tal (2 bottles): 90p
Produced in 1/3 new and 2/3 old barriques for 18 months from Merlot, Syrah and Zweigelt grapes. Rated 91-93p by Falstaff: Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Feinwürzig unterlegtes dunkles Waldbeerkonfit, tabakige Nuancen, ein Hauch von Lakritze und Herzkirschen, floraler Touch. Saftig, kraftvoll, reife Zwetschken, integrierte Tannine, frisch strukturiert, stoffig und gut anhaftend, feines Nougat im Nachhall, mineralischer Nachhall." and 91p by Wine Enthusiast.
Had the 2015 vintage last christmas, which was less oaky and had more chocolate characteristics.

2016 Quartomoro Memorie Di Vite CNS (2 bottles): 89p
Unknown wine to me, but I gave it a try due to good reviews, 100% cannonau of Sardegna and a very impressive design. 15% alcohol, fermentation at a temperature below 30 ° C, with autochthonous yeasts, crushed and destemmed grapes, with 7-day maceration with manual punching down. 6 months in steel and barriques of at least 4 passes, at least 6 months in bottle.
Compared to Netzl the Quartomoro was more fruity, slightly herbal and with more acidity.
Drinking window 2019 - 2030
