Friday, June 6, 2008 - An incredibly fine California Chardonnay. I've been waiting for that aged Stony Hill "magic" that others talk about but takes patience to find. The wine has a medium nose of complex citrus, earth, stone and lime and the flavors are medium intensity and the same. The mouthfeel is inredibly voluptuous! It is round, smooth and "fat" feeling but then the finish has a pleasing acidity that keeps it all fresh. This perfect balance makes the wines finish go on and on. This wine can still improve and get more complex. I will enjoy now but try at the end of 09 or 2010 for even more interesting things.
