Tuesday, May 6, 2014 - The 2002 Majella The Malleea is dense garnet in colour with dusty plums on the nose alongside some herbs (thyme), cedar, vanilla pods and eucalyptus.

On the palate, the wine enters with purple and black currants and a mid-palate of woodiness that then progresses to some red sour prunes with some eucalyptus by the side. There's an attractive spectrum of flvaours on the rather broad palate. Tannins are very fine now and acidity is still well-present. Pretty balanced in style which definitely gives the wine its attractive nature. Finish is medium (-) in length, though one might argue it being a little tart and possibly drying out.
