Thursday, April 19, 2012 - Still tight and compact when first opened. After a couple of hours of decanting and re-filling in bottle, this wine opens up and shows aromas of cassis, sour-cherries, leather and an interesting but strange petrol-note. Presumably resulting from the natural yeasts used for this wine, the petrol-aromas become less and less prominent with time. On the second day this nice Pommard's bouquet becomes more typical, providing additional aromas of iodine and rust. Nice traditional Burgundy that needs another 3-4 years!
