Friday, December 17, 2021 - I think this is the 1st time that BOTH of the only 2 CT TN's on a single wine are mine. Before writing this TN I reviewed my last TN on this wine from '16 and evolution / improvement has indeed occurred but not dramatically. Now completely integrated, very smooth and balanced with good fruit left but oak & tannins essentially all gone - there is enough of a solid fruit core left for some additional cellaring under proper conditions but no real further upside or improvememt expected with additional cellaring - at this point this is a drink not hold wine. This wine remains a very good, inexpensive and now an excellent QPR negociant bordeaux. Can stand a short 30-60 minute decant but would not decant much longer then that - the funk blew off quick and the wine came around pretty quick. Dark purple, some peripheral bricking present and full bodied with a very nice reasonably long aftertaste. Big nose with funk blowing off quickly with subsequent oak, plum, caramel and lilac with flavors of dark plum, blueberry and cassis up front with an earthier finish of terroir, graphite and tar. Definitely recommend this wine.
