90 Points

Monday, December 21, 2020 - Slo-oxed for 20 minute which helped it to open. Greeted with aromas of dark red fruits and earth. The medium to plus bodied palate was mostly dark red fruits (esp. black cherry) along with a dose of spice and pepper. The acidity was nicely balancing, there was no obvious oak, and any tannins were well integrated.
This bottle was not as enjoyable as the bottle we had in Feb. 2019. The fruit was pretty straight-forward rather than the layered experience with the previous bottle. It also seems as if the wine lost some body, and some gravitas, as it has aged. This wine did make the decade mark, but there is no reason to hold these - enjoy them now.
