Monday, April 2, 2012 - The nose showed blackberry jam with cinnamon, pepper and hints of mint. On the palate, I found sour mixed berries, peppermint and minerals on a balanced and structured frame with refreshing acidity, which allowed this brooding Zinfandel to show well on this night. The finish was long with palate staining fruits that wrapped the senses and showed only a glimpse of the tannin that hides beneath.
